  • Medical Assistant


    Medical Assistant Program Overview

    The Medical Assistant program prepares the student to assist physicians in administering their offices and performing routine clinical duties and assisting in patient care. Training is provided in both administrative and clinical skill areas. Administrative includes computer applications, office procedures, and insurance records while first-aid and taking vital signs and blood tests are examples of the clinical portion. Externships during the last module of training provide actual work experience in a medical setting and professional exposure. Students in this program are supplied with one set of scrubs and one stethoscope after the first quarter of training. The Medical Assistant program contains 1,020 clock hours.

  • Patient Care Technician


    Patient Care Technician Program Overview

    The Patient Care Technician program develops basic care skills required in a hospital environment. This includes taking vital signs, blood draws, dressing changes, Foley catheterizations, EKG's, assisting patients with activities of day-to-day living, and patient observation. The PCT is prepared to record pertinent information in patient charts and communicate with other members of the health care team to ensure continuity of patient care. (Note: A Wonderlic SLE test score of 18 is required for admission to this program.) Students in this program are supplied with one set of scrubs and one stethoscope after the first quarter of training. The Patient Care Technician program consists of 1020 clock hours.

  • Medical Administration and Billing


    Medical Administration and Billing program is well suited for those interested in administrative responsibilities within the medical field. This comprehensive training includes medical terminology and insurance coding necessary to accurately bill patients and insurance companies. The student will efficiently perform mathematical and accounting operations and learn to use a computerized medical billing program widely used in the profession. Skills and knowledge are enhanced through an externship that culminates the student's training. Students in this program are supplied with one set of scrubs after the first quarter of training. The Medical Administration and Billing program contains 1,020 clock hours.
